First Day of Autumn 2011

I feel the sadness and trepidation of a Season ending and a new one opening it's doors.

Autumn is here with its changing leaves, falling leaves, cooler night temps. No more swimming in the lake. I will probably try again to envelope myself in its cold arms so I can connect with the lake once again.

Autumn precedes Winter and I am dreading the length and intensity of Winter. It is too long. Wish that Autumn, Summer, Spring were the bulk of the Season and Winter just one month long. Is there such a place on this planet?

It looks pretty, a radiant palette of new colors. The pumpkins are in the fields ready for picking. The corn is ripe and ready for the table. The apples and pears are ripe enough for consumption and the pleasure of viewing.

It is raining once again and a day of clouds for this first day of Autumn. The melancholy character of those aspects reiterate my sadness.

Protesting the Damage of Our World

Protested today in Binghamton, NY with a group of citizens across from a hotel on Water St..
Three police cars controlling the protest crowd and keeping us behind yellow-wooden barriers across the street.
We're told to stay behind and keep the sidewalks clear. Lots of signs protesting during a
visit from the NY Governor Cuomo.
I feel like we are some wild beasts that need taming and control and need to be behind a barricade. Feels humiliating and disrespectful of our citizen right to protest and let our elected
officials know of our deep concerns.
Several issues being voiced over the upset around budget cuts for schools and programs for the disabled
and mentally challenged and voices chanting against the gas drilling craze in our nation--"No
fracking now". Students and others chanting and wanting to be heard.
Lots of media coverage from local television and newspapers.
I videotaped and will put a segment on cable public access shortly.
Good to see all who made the effort and sacrifice to be there and brave bitter-cold temperatures
in the teens.
We were there over an hour and half and had freezing toes and fingers and the satisfaction
that the media covered us well and may our efforts produce good fruit to save our planet from further plunder for the profit of a few.

Finding the Peace Within

Amidst all the storms of life all over the earth--it helps me to anchor in my peace space within --

the dramas are ancient and keep repeating-- wars and pestilence and horrors of all kinds-- interpersonal hurts and challenges abound--

how much to identify with and lose myself in-- now, at the later stage of my life-- mid--life--

relooking at life's choices-- what I want to put my energies into-- and pulling back , slowing down,

being more present in this moment-- looking with the inner eyes-- the Ancient Observer--

breathing consciously-- connecting and merging with the One that is beyond Time and Space--

being the Peace-- the Creative Principle-- coming straight from there-- not lost in the world

of repeat performances-- the Stage Play-- is played out for me-- and see what will happen

or not now--
